Outsulation Systems

There are many different types of EIFS systems, in the Dryvit Brand they are called “Outsulation” Systems. But the most common component is a layer of external insulation called “Continuous Insulation” or “C.I.”. This continuous insulation covers the internal studs of the wall, blocking any thermal bridging and making your wall more energy efficient.

Outsulation Plus MD

Outuslation Plus MD (MD stands for “moisture drainage” is the most commonly and flagship system for Continuous Insulation. It consists of:

  1. Dryvit/Tremco Flashing System

  2. Dryvit/Tremco Air/Water-Resistive Barrier Coating

  3. Adhesive/Drainage Plane

  4. Pre-Based Starter Board

  5. EPS Continuous Insulation

  6. Base Coat

  7. Reinforcing Mesh

  8. Finish

Even though Outsulation Plus MD “OPMD” is the flagship, there are many different types of Continous Outsulation Systems offered by Dryvit.
